On this page we share tips and techniques for cleaning seeds

Put your pods in an old pillow case and walk/dance on them crushing the pods. A great job for children!
Shake the pillowcase so the beans fall to the bottom and scoop out the empty pods. You will need to screen or pick out small pieces of broken pods. A drill powered bucket thresher on low speed works too.

When you cut off your seed heads put them head down in a paper bag to continue drying.

Shuswap Seed Savers are collecting some seed cleaning equipment. This is available for local individuals and small groups to borrow. Please email us for more information. (North Okanagan - Shuswap area).
